Limits: We did not purchase a Pressable plan or run speed, uptime, load, migration, backup, or support tests; every performance figure below comes from the vendor or from the third-party testing programs cited. Pressable's homepage figures (5.2 ms static response, 12 ms P95, 98.5% satisfaction, 2 min 9 sec first response) are vendor-selected data from WPHostingBenchmarks (August 2023) and Pressable's own April 2025 reporting, not independent measurement. Third-party test results differ by method and window: WPBeginner measured 827 ms fully loaded and 309 ms average response in June 2026, BestWebHostingUSA recorded 0.45 s average load and 108 ms TTFB over a 10-month window ending February 2026, and Prehost's CrUX panel averages 1.7 s TTFB across 1,119 live customer sites in September 2026. Treat these as a range, not a single number. Independent monitoring recorded 99.993% actual uptime (BestWebHostingUSA, 10 months), while Pressable publishes a 100% uptime guarantee and some third-party reviewers cite a 99.999% SLA. Verify current SLA terms on the vendor site. Sources disagree on email hosting: WPBeginner lists no email hosting, while Pressable's pricing page lists Professional Email among plan features (Titan, with a 90-day trial). Confirm scope with the vendor. One third-party review lists missing Git and SSH access as a drawback, while Pressable's homepage lists SSH, Git, and WP-CLI among included tools; we follow the vendor listing. Editorial verdict+/- Conditionalmedium confidence

Pressable sells the most complete included feature set in premium managed WordPress hosting: every Signature plan carries dedicated PHP workers, staging and sandbox environments, Jetpack Security, hourly backups, a global CDN, and a 100% uptime guarantee, from $20.83 per month on annual billing. The catch is a metered model with a high visit overage rate, no phone support, WordPress-only scope, and a control panel that reviewers rate a step below Kinsta's.

Best for
  • Agencies and freelancers managing 5 to 100 WordPress sites who want flat per-site economics with staging, sandbox, and Jetpack Security included
  • WooCommerce and content sites in the 30,000 to 400,000 monthly visit range where the bundled stack replaces several paid plugins
  • Teams already invested in the Automattic ecosystem, or wanting AI-driven management through Pressable MCP
  • Buyers who prefer published list pricing over introductory discounts that jump at renewal
Avoid if
  • You run a single high-traffic store with unpredictable spikes, where the $1.20 per 1,000 visit overage rate is 2.4x Kinsta's
  • You need phone support, email hosting as a hard requirement, or non-WordPress applications
  • Your sites are media-heavy; storage is pooled across installs and tops out at 325 GB
  • You need container-isolated resources for one mission-critical site or the widest possible CDN footprint
  • You are on a tight budget; entry pricing is roughly ten times budget shared hosting
On this page

Pressable is Automattic’s managed WordPress host. The platform was founded in 2010 as ZippyKid in San Antonio, and a few years later it was acquired by Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, WooCommerce, and Jetpack, which rebuilt the architecture on WP Cloud, the same infrastructure that powers WordPress.com [S3][S7]. That ownership is the core of the pitch: when a WooCommerce edge case or a Jetpack conflict surfaces, the support team draws on the engineers who write the software [S7][S8].

The product is sold as eight Signature plans that differ only in scale: WordPress installs, monthly visits, and storage. Every plan carries the same feature set, including dedicated PHP workers, staging and sandbox environments, Jetpack Security, hourly backups, a global CDN, and a 100% uptime guarantee [S1]. Entry pricing is $25 per month, or $20.83 per month when billed annually [S1].

The tradeoffs are equally consistent. Pressable meters visits and storage, and its visit overage rate of $1.20 per 1,000 is 2.4x Kinsta’s rate [S4][S8]. There is no phone support, the platform hosts WordPress only, and reviewers rate the MyPressable control panel below Kinsta’s on polish [S2][S10][S11]. This review covers what the plans cost in September 2026, how the metering works, what independent testing shows, and where Pressable stops making sense.

Bottom line

Verdict: conditional. Pressable offers the most complete included feature set in premium managed WordPress hosting. Dedicated PHP workers, production, staging, and sandbox environments, Jetpack Security, hourly database backups, a global CDN, free migrations, and a 100% uptime guarantee are included on the $20.83 per month annual plan and every tier above it [S1][S2][S7]. For agencies and WooCommerce operators, the bundled stack removes plugin and tooling costs that most hosts leave to the customer, and independent tests back the performance claims [S7][S8][S10].

The conditions matter. Visits and storage are metered, the visit overage rate is 2.4x Kinsta’s, storage is pooled across all installs on a plan, support has no phone channel, and the platform will not host anything but WordPress [S4][S8][S10]. Buy Pressable when the Automattic stack and included features match how you work. Do not buy it if your traffic is spiky, your media library is large, or you need a general-purpose host.

This is a desk-research review. We did not purchase a plan or run any tests; the performance data below belongs to the third-party programs that measured it.

Pressable pricing in September 2026

Pressable’s Signature lineup scales in installs, visits, and storage. Annual billing costs the same as ten months, which the pricing page presents as two months free [S1].

PlanMonthly billingAnnual billing (per month)Annual totalInstallsVisits per monthStorage
Signature 1$25$20.83$250130,00020 GB
Signature 2$45$37.50$450350,00030 GB
Signature 3$60$50$600575,00035 GB
Signature 4$90$75$90010150,00050 GB
Signature 5$155$129.17$1,55020400,00080 GB
Signature 6$350$291.67$3,500501,000,000200 GB
Signature 7$545$454.17$5,450801,600,000275 GB
Signature 8$675$562.50$6,7501002,000,000325 GB

Every tier includes the same number of staging sites and sandbox sites as production installs, so a 10-install plan comes with 10 staging and 10 sandbox environments [S1].

Three pricing details are worth checking before checkout. Usage above the included visits and storage bills at $1.20 per 1,000 visits and $1.00 per GB of storage; if the excess looks permanent, Pressable sells add-ons at reduced rates of $8 per 10,000 visits and $0.50 per GB of storage up to 200 GB [S4]. Premium plans for mission-critical single sites start at $350 per month and add 10 base vCPUs per site, vertical scaling past 100 cores, custom storage, overage protection, white-glove onboarding, and a Jetpack Complete license [S1]. And agencies buying through Automattic for Agencies can get bundles from 1 to 500 sites across 17 Signature tiers, with a Jetpack Complete license for each site and the same add-on rates [S6].

Pressable backs every hosting plan with a 30-day money-back guarantee [S1][S2].

What every plan includes

The infrastructure bundle is identical across the Signature tiers, which is the core of the value argument. Every plan includes five dedicated PHP workers (5 vCPUs) per site with burst capacity, 512 MB of memory per worker, edge cache and OPcache, page and query caching, AMD EPYC Milan CPUs, hourly and daily backups, a geo-redundant high-availability cloud with automatic failover, health and performance reports, free SSL, malware monitoring and threat response, and 24/7 support [S1][S2].

Pressable also bundles Jetpack Security, which it values at $239 per year, and free unlimited migrations handled by its own team [S1][S2]. The platform runs on WP Cloud, and every site gets primary and secondary servers; if the primary server loses connectivity, connections fail over to the secondary automatically [S2][S5]. Data centers are in Amsterdam, Washington DC, Los Angeles, and Dallas, and you can pick a default data center at site creation, though moving a site between data centers later requires cloning it [S5].

On the 2026 product side, the homepage leads with Pressable MCP, a Model Context Protocol integration that lets an AI assistant create sites, update PHP versions, search activity logs, and manage environments through prompts [S2]. Pressable supports subdirectory multisite on all plans and domain-based multisites on Signature 5 and above [S2].

Support is 24/7 via live chat and tickets on every plan. Pressable does not offer phone support and argues the chat model is faster; the vendor reports an average first response of 2 minutes 9 seconds and 98.5% satisfaction in April 2025 data, while independent reviewers measured response times around 4 minutes and 3 minutes 40 seconds respectively [S2][S7][S10].

How visits and storage billing works

Pressable’s metering is the part of the product most likely to affect your bill, so the definitions matter.

A visit is counted once per visitor per day, on the current UTC day. A visitor can browse multiple pages in a day and still count as one visit [S4]. By default, visits are measured through Fathom Analytics (formerly Gauges), which deduplicates visitors with an anonymous server-side hash and no cookies; accounts can opt into Pressable Insights, a server-side counter that typically records higher numbers because it includes more automated traffic [S4].

Storage is the sum of disk space used across all sites on the account, measured by user-space accounting. Uploads, plugins, themes, cache files, build artifacts, and logs count; WordPress core files, Pressable-managed plugins, and the database do not [S4]. Storage is snapshotted nightly and averaged across the billing cycle, so a short-lived spike does not distort the bill [S4].

Overages are charged automatically. Monthly plans are evaluated billing date to billing date, annual plans by calendar month. A banner appears in the control panel at 80% of either limit, a second banner appears when you exceed it, and an email arrives once overage charges reach $10 [S4]. Sites are never taken offline for exceeding limits, a point independent reviewers highlight as friendlier than hard cutoffs [S8][S11].

The economics to watch: at $1.20 per 1,000 visits, an extra 100,000 monthly visits adds $120 per month, so routine overages are usually a signal to move up a tier rather than pay the meter [S4][S11]. FindBestWebHosting calculates that Pressable’s visit overage rate is 2.4x Kinsta’s $0.50 per 1,000, and recommends watching usage closely because sites are never disabled for exceeding limits [S8].

Performance and uptime evidence

Pressable’s homepage quotes WPHostingBenchmarks data from August 2023: a 5.2 ms static response time and 12 ms P95 response time [S2]. That is vendor-selected data, and it sits alongside vendor-reported ratings (G2 4.8/5 as of July 2024, Trustpilot 4.8/5 as of April 2025) [S2]. The independent picture is broader:

ProgramWhat was measuredResult
WPBeginner, June 2026GTmetrix, PageSpeedPlus, K6, and UptimeRobot against a live test siteGrade A with a 100% performance score, 827 ms fully loaded, 470 ms LCP, 309 ms average server response across global locations, 100% uptime over 30 days, stable at 50 concurrent users [S7]
BestWebHostingUSA, May 2025 to February 202610 months of monitoring two live sites with GTmetrix, Pingdom, WebPageTest, UptimeRobot, StatusCake, and k60.45 s average load, 108 ms average TTFB, 96% GTmetrix score, 99.993% uptime (31 minutes of downtime, longest incident 5 minutes), stable to 300 concurrent users [S10]
Prehost, September 2026 updateCrUX TTFB for 1,119 Pressable-hosted sites1.7 s average TTFB; 50.9% of sites under 800 ms, 21.6% between 800 ms and 1.8 s, and 27.5% above 1.8 s [S9]
Pressable (vendor data)WPHostingBenchmarks static and P95 response tests, August 20235.2 ms static response, 12 ms P95 [S2]

The three independent programs agree on the shape of the result: on a configured test site Pressable is fast, and its uptime record is strong. WPBeginner’s test site scored a perfect GTmetrix performance grade, and its 30-day uptime window recorded zero incidents [S7]. BestWebHostingUSA saw similar load times over a much longer window and describes the platform as top 5% among the hosts it has tested [S10].

The Prehost panel is the honest counterweight. It samples real customer sites through Google’s Chrome User Experience Report rather than a tuned test site, and it shows a 1.7 s average TTFB with roughly half of sites in the good band and about 27.5% above 1.8 s [S9]. Slow WordPress sites on fast hosting are usually a site-optimization problem rather than a platform problem, but the distribution is worth knowing before you compare Pressable against lab benchmarks from any host.

Where Pressable fits against the alternatives

Pressable competes in the premium managed tier, and the trade is usually included features and storage per dollar against isolation, tooling depth, and price.

  • Kinsta runs on Google Cloud with container isolation per site, which FindBestWebHosting recommends for a single high-traffic WooCommerce store, and its visit overage rate is $0.50 per 1,000 against Pressable’s $1.20 [S8]. See our Kinsta review and the Kinsta pricing breakdown.
  • WP Engine includes phone support and deeper development tooling, but at the 10-site tier its Growth plan runs $109 per month against Pressable Signature 4 at $75 per month with 50% more visits, and WP Engine’s visit overage rate is $2.00 per 1,000 [S8]. See our WP Engine review and WP Engine pricing guide.
  • Rocket.net pairs Cloudflare Enterprise edge caching with unlimited visitors for speed-first buyers, and FindBestWebHosting recommends it alongside Kinsta for high-traffic stores [S8]. See our Rocket.net review.
  • Cloudways offers managed cloud hosting at lower entry prices with more of the stack left for you to assemble, and none of the included Jetpack and staging bundle. See our Cloudways review.
  • Budget hosts remain a different category: at $25 per month on monthly billing, Pressable sits far above promotional shared hosting pricing, and reviewers say the platform only pays off when WordPress is core to the business [S11]. See our best WordPress hosting guide for the wider market.

Limits and reasons to avoid Pressable

The visit overage rate is high. At $1.20 per 1,000 visits, Pressable bills more than double Kinsta’s rate for traffic above the plan limit [S8]. Sites with unpredictable spikes, such as launches, campaigns, or viral posts, can generate meaningful overage bills before an upgrade makes sense; monitor the 80% alert and the dashboard banner [S4][S8].

Storage is pooled, not per site. On Signature 4, 50 GB is shared across all 10 installs. One media-heavy site can consume most of the allowance for the others, and the top Signature tier stops at 325 GB [S1][S8].

WordPress only, and no phone support. Pressable does not host other applications and does not offer phone support at any tier, a deliberate choice the company explains in its FAQ [S2][S10]. Teams that need voice support or a general-purpose host should look elsewhere.

Email is ambiguous. WPBeginner lists the absence of email hosting as a con, while Pressable’s pricing page lists Professional Email among plan features via a Titan partnership with a free 90-day trial [S2][S7]. Treat bundled email as limited and confirm what is included before relying on it.

The CDN footprint is narrower than the largest rivals. FindBestWebHosting describes a 28-location CDN, against Kinsta’s Cloudflare-backed network of 260+ points of presence; sites with heavy audiences in underserved regions should weigh that [S8].

Control panel and tooling depth. Reviewers rate the MyPressable dashboard as clean and easy but a step below MyKinsta on polish, and BestWebHostingUSA rates WP Engine higher on developer tooling [S10][S11].

Pressable pros and cons

Pros

  • Every Signature plan carries the same feature set: five dedicated PHP workers per site, staging plus sandbox environments, Jetpack Security, hourly and daily backups, a global CDN, and a 100% uptime guarantee [S1][S2].
  • Entry pricing of $20.83 per month annual includes 20 GB of storage, roughly double what some premium rivals offer at a lower price [S1][S11].
  • Independent tests record fast load times, strong uptime, and stability under hundreds of concurrent users [S7][S10].
  • The Automattic ownership means native WooCommerce, Jetpack, and WP Cloud integration, plus Pressable MCP for AI-driven site management [S2][S3][S7].
  • Free unlimited migrations, a 30-day money-back guarantee, and published list pricing without introductory discounts [S1][S2][S11].
  • Sites stay online when limits are exceeded, with alerts at 80% and no hard cutoffs [S4][S8].

Cons

  • Visit overages at $1.20 per 1,000 are 2.4x Kinsta’s rate and the main billing risk [S8].
  • No phone support and no non-WordPress hosting [S2][S10].
  • Storage is pooled across installs and caps at 325 GB on the top Signature tier [S1][S8].
  • Real-world TTFB across customer sites is far more mixed than lab benchmarks suggest [S9].
  • Email hosting scope is inconsistent between the vendor page and third-party reviews [S2][S7].

Who should choose Pressable

Choose Pressable if you manage several WordPress sites and want a single, complete platform: agencies and freelancers get flat per-site economics with staging and sandbox environments on every install, WooCommerce stores get the platform built by the WooCommerce team, and Automattic-ecosystem users get Jetpack Security, WP Cloud infrastructure, and MCP-based automation without extra subscriptions [S1][S2][S7][S8]. It fits buyers who prefer published list pricing and included features over promotional first-term pricing and add-on menus [S11].

Who should look elsewhere

Look elsewhere if your traffic is spiky or your overage tolerance is low, in which case Kinsta or Rocket.net meter visits more gently or not at all. Look elsewhere if you need phone support, a general-purpose host, or roomy storage for media-heavy sites [S2][S8][S10]. And if your budget is the binding constraint, a budget host from our best WordPress hosting guide will cost a fraction of Pressable’s entry price [S11].

Final verdict

Pressable earns a conditional recommendation with medium confidence. It packages more usable features into a premium managed WordPress plan than anyone else in the tier, its independent test results are strong, and its Automattic ownership is a real operational advantage rather than a marketing line. The conditions come from the meter: visits and storage are billed, the overage rate is above market, storage is pooled, and the platform stops at WordPress. Match your traffic profile and storage footprint to a tier before you buy, watch the 80% alerts, and confirm current prices, email scope, and SLA terms on the official pricing page before checkout [S1][S4][S8].
